1st DAY

Arrival in Vilnius, optional transfer to your hotel, check-in, welcome meeting with a guide.

2nd DAY. Exploring Vilnius and discovering a frozen beauty of Trakai

In the morning we will show you our charming capital Vilnius and tell you all those great stories behind the cobbled streets and beautiful baroque facades.

The tour will continue to Uzupis, a self proclaimed independent republic within Vilnius city boundaries, which was established twenty years ago by the local artists. Walking tour will take around 2,5 hours. In the afternoon you can opt for a picturesque kicksledding adventure in Trakai (OPTIONAL). On this kicksledding tour you will explore true winter wonderland around Trakai while sledding snowy forest trails and frozen lakes, but not forgetting the castle on the island. Trakai used to be a medieval residence of Lithuanian Grand Dukes.

Once a significant and powerful town, nowadays Trakai is enjoying tranquility and a status of summer resort with its only 5000 residents. The town is located next to Vilnius (about 25 km) and surrounded by several beautiful lakes that get frozen in winter. The main attraction is the Island castle which was initiated by Lithuanian Grand Duke Kestutis in 14th century, finished and mostly used as a residence by his son Grand Duke Vytautas in the first half of 15th century.

After the tour you will be rewarded with a cup of hot tea and a local pie. 

In the evening upon returning to Vilnius you will have chance to optional for Lithuanian historical tasting dinner or local beer tasting

3rd DAY. Hiking in Labanoras regional park and stargazing at night

On this day you will leave a bustling capital behind and will go to explore Aukstaitijos national park which is the oldest national park in Lithuania. You will hike in the old-growth forests, get to know the nature around you and have a picnic.

When it gets dark (and in winter it’s quite early) we will visit the only Ethnocosmology museum in the world and get a chance to see the stars and planets through a telescope (in case of bad weather and cloudy sky you will have a regular tour in the museum). 

In the evening you will be rewarded with a warm home made dinner at the homestay where we will spend the next two nights.

4th DAY. Free day or optional daytrip to Anyksciai tree top with a ride on Bobsled roller coaster.

This day is free for you to decide what you want to do.


If you want to have all the time for yourself, go exploring surrounding nature or just stay cozy inside the house in front of the fireplace. Also you can choose an optional daytrip to Anyksciai tree top path which is the only path in the Baltic states that goes over the tree tops. On the way to Anyksciai you will visit the beekeeping museum and get to know about importance of bees and honey in our culture and tradition. You will also visit Ginuciai water mill which is an authentic monument from 19th century, has all original settings and equipment and you will hear about the tradition of bread making in Lithuania from the ancient times. For the fun part of this daytrip you will visit an adventure park with the bobsled tracks which is the only such Alpine coaster in Lithuania. A ride downhill is included in the trip! Overnight at the homestay in Aukstaitijos national park. Please note, that in a homestay the bathroom may be shared between a few rooms.


5th DAY. From Labanoras to Riga with sightseeing on the way

After delicious homemade breakfast we will say goodbye to our local host and will head north to Riga.

On the way we will pass through Siauliai and visit a Hill of Crosses - a site that attracts thousands of people who come to see this fascinating hill covered with more than 100,000 crosses as a symbol of Lithuanian nationalism and beliefs. 

Later we will continue our trip to Riga, capital of Latvia where another couple day full of adventure will be waiting for us.

6th DAY. Explore Riga on foot

In the morning you will have a 2 hour walking tour in Old Riga.

While meandering its narrow streets and ancient alleyways you will discover the must visit sites and some hidden corners. Founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert, Riga is the largest of the three Baltic capitals and boasts a true kaleidoscope of various architectural styles. The walking tour of the Old Town includes Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, Swedish Gates, Three Brothers, Large and Small Guild House and the Freedom Monument.

The afternoon is free or you can optionaly for a husky dog sledding in Latvian countrysideHuskies, the breed commonly used for dog sledding, are strong dogs. On a typical dog sledding trip they will pull you at high speed across the Latvian wilderness, and as the wind slaps you face, you will get a taste of what life was like in the old days, when dog sledding was a much more common mode of transportation for many. Each participant is instructed before going to the track to become a team member with the dogs!

7th DAY. Discover wonderful sceneries in Gauja national park

Another full day of exciting sceneries and fresh air.

After a short ride from Riga you will get off on the outskirts of Sigulda town where you will start a three-hour hike in the hilly forests, discovering unique sandstone caves and hidden passages through the forest.

You will see the river Gauja valley from the top and enjoy the view of Sigulda castle from afar.

After the hike we will have a picnic lunch and continue to a unique Gutman’s cave – the largest in the Baltics sandstone cave which is also a geological protected monument. We will hear the medieval Latvian legend of the Rose of Turaida and see the ruins of the Turaida castle a former Livonian order settlement that is the most pictured monument of the area.

After exploring fascinating nature of Latvian countryside we will head back to Riga for a free evening to enjoy its cosy old town.

8th DAY. On the road from Riga to Tallinn

After breakfast we will go to Tallinn with a stop in Estonian coastal town of Parnu.

We do a short tour (1 hour) of the town before we continue through the North Estonian land of forests and arrive in Tallinn in the afternoon.

In the evening we will have a 2 hour walking tour of Tallinn old town. Tallinn is a charming blend of medieval tranquility and modern urban life. The medieval Old Town is a busy place in both summer and winter with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, cafés and restaurants. The walking tour (2-2.5 hours) takes us around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where we see Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, medieval Old Town Hall and Great Guild Hall.

9th DAY. Estonian nature and seaside

After breakfast we are going to Lahemaa National Park the largest and very first protected nature reserve in the country.

This day is to explore stunning Estonian nature with it’s forests, lakes and wetlands. We will visit Jagala juga – the biggest natural waterfall in Estonia which is especially stunning in winter with its frozen cascades. Following the road we will visit Sagadi manor house – a good example showing how Estonian nobles used to live in the 18th century. The manor estate itself dates back to the 15th century and is one of the best preserved manors throughout the country.

Later we will drive the narrow roads through the forested area where we will have chance to stroll around the fishermen villages along the Gulf of Finland. We will head for Oandu Old Grown forest and have a hike on a 5 km trail discovering it’s anciend virgin forest, natural animal species and perhaps some activity traces of wild animals.  

On the way back to Tallinn we will visit a picturesque Viru bog where we will take a walk through the path directing through the middle of the bog (6km long). The hikes may be shorter depending on the daylight time and weather conditions.

10th Day. Departure
