1st DAY

Arrival in Vilnius, optional transfer to your hotel, check-in, welcome meeting with a guide. Welcome drink. Overnight in Vilnius 3* Hotel.

2nd DAY

In the morning we will show you our charming capital Vilnius and tell you all those great stories behind the cobbled streets and beautiful baroque facades. The tour will continue to Uzupis, a self proclaimed independent republic within Vilnius city boundaries, which was established twenty years ago by the local artists. Walking tour will take around 2,5 hours. In the afternoon we will visit Trakai, our historical capital and will admire its medieval castle build on the island in the lake Galve. It is also the only historical national park in Europe. Trakai is definitely a must visit place for tasting our local specialty – Kibinai – brought to us centuries ago by Karaim people from Crimea. You can taste this delicious meal while visiting Trakai (OPTIONAL). The day will end in Vilnius and you will have a delicious evening option: by tasting Lithuanian historical dinner (OPTIONAL) or by trying out the best Lithuanian beers (OPTIONAL). Overnight in Vilnius 3* hotel.

3rd DAY. Out of the city

In the morning you will be picked from Vilnius and will drive to Asveja regional park where you will visit Dubingiai town that lies on Asveja shore, the longest lake in Lithuania. You will see Dubingiai castle that is now just the ruins, but used to be one of the most important and luxurious residence in whole Grand Duchy of Lithuania and belonged to the Radvilos the most influential noble family in Lithuania. Later you will go to Labanoras forest, which is one of the biggest forests in Lithuania. You will hike on the forest trail, climb up the viewtower and have a picnic. In the late afternoon you will arrive to the local homestead where a hot sauna will be waiting for you, which is the best after long day hike. A warm homemade dinner will be waiting for you once you are done with sauna. And this is not the end of the day. When it gets dark we will go to Moletai astronomy observatory for the night stargazing (subject to weather conditions). During the tour you will have chance to watch the night sky through one of the biggest telescopes in Northern Europe. After the night program you will go back to the homestead for well deserved rest.Overnight at the local homestead in the countryside. At the homesteads the bathroom may be shared among few rooms.

4th DAY

Have a relaxed no hurry breakfast at your homestead. After breakfast we will leave for another day of exploration in Aukstaitijos national park. This day we will discover Paluse village - which holds the official title of the capital of Aukstaitija National Park. Then we will climb Ladakalnis hill (we Lithuanians call it mountain) to admire panorama of 6 surrounding lakes. The hill itself has a mythological significance and it is thought to be a sacred place of the Baltic goddess Lada, the mother of the world. Later we will stop at Ginuciai hillfort and water mill used for grinding the grain. It is the only mill that preserved the authentic 19th century equipment and you can learn about the old days bread making process and its long journey to our tables. We will also visit the only beekeeping museum in Lithuania where we will see the examples of ancient beehives and learn about beekeeping tradition and rites in Lithuania, learn about different kinds of honey. In the afternoon we will continue our trip to Anyksciai which is famous of its newly built walking path that goes over the tree tops. You will have chance to experience it yourself and walk all along this path ending with the 34 meters high viewtower to admire the beautiful panorama of Lithuanian forests and lakes for one more time. After Anyksciai we will continue driving to Kaunas. Overnight in Kaunas 3* Hotel.

5th DAY

In the morning you will have a short sightseeing tour in Kaunas our former temporary capital of Lithuania and Europe’s capital of Culture 2022. The tour will reveal to us how it felt to be in independent Lithuania between two World Wars, and how this vibrant city lives today. Later we will drive a beautiful road by the river Nemunas that has a lot of castles and stop in Panemune Castle on the way. Following the biggest Lithuanian river Nemunas you will pass by it’s remote villages and towns which lay between the many rivers and channels. On this day you will also visit a fascinating 3 km long walking trail in the Aukstumala bog (it the weather conditions allow). In the late afternoon you will arrive to Rusne, the biggest island of Lithuania where you will be welcomed by our lovely local host with a hearty homemade dinner. Enjoy the evening at the homestead or go explore the tiny town of Rusne. For the perfect end of the day, enjoy local’s beloved hot sauna experience (OPTIONAL). Overnight in Rusne homestay. Please note, that in a homestay the bathroom may be shared between a few rooms.

6th DAY

This day we will move along the Curonian lagoon exploring further it’s tiny villages and sights. In the morning you will find yourself in the bird watchers paradise – Vente horn ornithology station where thousands of birds pass every day on their way to Southern Hemisphere. Later in the day prepare for picturesque sand dunes, forests and tiny resort towns that used to be fishermen villages as we will explore the narrow Curonian spit peninsula on the other side of the lagoon. We will show you the full authenticity of this tiny, yet our favorite place of the land. We will make sure you will taste local smoked fish (OPTIONAL). And to make your trip more memorable – take some photos from breathtaking Parnidis dune before getting back to Klaipeda for the evening. Overnight in Klaipeda 3-4* hotel.

7th DAY

Departure. Transfer from Klaipeda to Vilnius. Hope to see you again!
